Job Title & Role Description:

The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered, comprehensive psychiatric care in a telemedicine setting. You will triage patients via phone or video appointments, and occasionally visit patients in person to provide medically necessary care. You will work closely with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care, support treatment planning, and ensure the best outcomes for patients with complex behavioral health needs. The PMHNP will be a key player in ensuring that patients receive timely, effective, and compassionate care, with a focus on providing the best possible experience in a virtual healthcare setting.

Skills Required:

  • Strong background in psychiatric care, with the ability to manage complex cases involving behavioral health, social, and physical needs.
  • Comfortable and skilled in delivering care through telemedicine platforms, ensuring effective communication and a positive patient experience.
  • Ability to provide compassionate care while addressing the unique needs of each patient, including medication management and treatment coordination.
  • Works effectively with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans, and coordinates care across various providers.
  • Ability to independently assess and address challenges in patient care, reaching out for support when necessary.
  • Knowledge of clinical documentation standards for billing and risk adjustment, with attention to detail in record-keeping.
  • Experience with therapeutic interventions such as Motivational Interviewing (MI), trauma-informed care, and person-first approaches.
