Job Description

Summary

The Facilities and EHS Manager is responsible for overseeing facility maintenance and managing the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) program. Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing, with a dotted line to the Plant Manager, this role provides hands-on support for manufacturing operations, leveraging expertise in mechanical systems, machine shop practices, and electrical support. The manager ensures a safe and compliant work environment, promotes a safe work environment, conducts audits and investigations, and leads EHS training to foster a strong safety culture.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Responsible for effective communication, coordination, and working relationships with external clients, customers, contractors, and officials.
  2. Responsible for the efficient, timely, and accurate completion of facility maintenance functions.
  3. Develops and implements EHS programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA) and industry standards.
  4. Investigates incidents, accidents, and near misses, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective measures.
  5. Identifies, assesses, and manages environmental, health, and safety risks.
  6. Initiates and negotiates bids with contractors.
  7. Monitor’s utilization of equipment, facilities, and personnel.
  8. Responsible for maintaining effective communication, coordination, and working relationships with Company personnel and management.
  9. Maintain budgets and future estimates for projects.
  10. Trains, coaches and provides feedback for facilities staff, including facilitating annual performance reviews.
  11. Provides training to employees on EHS procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  12. Maintains accurate records of EHS activities, inspections, incidents, and training.
  13. Develops and oversees the implementation of continuous improvement plans and other facilities related projects and initiatives.
  14. Minimizes cost of downtime of equipment while maximizing production run time.
  15. Dedicated to supporting the team by working in a customer-focused manner
  16. Inspects and performs maintenance on assigned equipment and facilities as needed.
  17. Review work performed for accuracy, completeness, proper approvals are in place and that customer expectation is met in full.
  18. Comply with company policies, practices, and procedures.
  19. Ensures proper involvement of Human Resources on employee relations matters, internal investigation, counseling, performance management, training and development as deemed necessary.
  20. Performs other related duties as assigned.
