Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Technical Designer with a strong background in swimwear and technical apparel to join our dynamic and growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing the technical design process from concept to final production, ensuring all swimwear garments meet high standards of fit, function, construction, and quality. You will collaborate closely with the design, product development, and production teams to ensure flawless execution of each style.

Key Responsibilities:

• Translate design sketches into technical packages, including detailed technical flats , construction details , fabric specifications , and bill of materials .
• Develop and manage tech packs using industry-standard software (e.g., Illustrator, PLM systems).
• Conduct fit sessions , provide detailed fit comments, and make pattern or construction recommendations to achieve desired fit and performance.
• Collaborate with designers and patternmakers to ensure functional fit and comfort , especially regarding stretch, support, and water performance.
• Ensure all swimwear styles align with the brand’s fit standards and aesthetic goals.
• Review and approve sample construction , lab dips , fabric tests , and trim usage in alignment with swimwear requirements.
• Track sample status and maintain a development calendar to meet deadlines from proto to final production.
• Communicate effectively with domestic and overseas vendors on sample revisions, spec updates, and construction issues.
• Perform spec creation and grading for various sizes, ensuring consistent and accurate sizing across all swimwear products.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in technical design, with a strong focus on swimwear, activewear, or lingerie .
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator , Excel, and PLM software (e.g., Centric, Backbone, or equivalent).
• Solid understanding of swimwear construction, fabric behavior (especially stretch and recovery), and performance requirements .
• Exceptional technical sketching and garment construction knowledge.
• Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with overseas manufacturers.
• Knowledge of sustainable materials and swimwear innovations.
• Experience with 3D fitting software (e.g., CLO3D or Browzwear) is a plus.
