Job Title: Sr Design Engineer (Custom Design)

Location: Onsite - 1 Day Hybrid

Job Type: Full-Time

Travel: Occasional (10% or less, typically for equipment retrofits)

Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000 (based on experience)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with experience in custom design engineering, focusing on sheet metal fabrications and structural steel weldments. This role is ideal for someone with strong 3D modeling skills and project engineering experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize SolidWorks (strongly preferred) to create 3D models of large assemblies.
• Develop custom mechanical designs incorporating sheet metal fabrications, structural steel weldments, and various purchased components.
• Apply problem-solving skills to engineer solutions for unique customer requirements.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapting to changing priorities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine designs and improve processes.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for project tracking and analysis.
• Travel occasionally (10% or less) for equipment retrofits and on-site adjustments.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Education: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering preferred, but open to candidates with substantial experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience: 5-10 years in a mechanical engineering role (candidates with more experience will also be considered).
• 3D Modeling Expertise:
• SolidWorks preferred (training provided for exceptional candidates with Inventor experience).
• Experience working with large assemblies and complex designs.
• Project Engineering Experience:
• Emphasis on custom engineering , not standard product development.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
• Additional Skills:
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team setting.
• A strong work ethic and willingness to take ownership of projects.
