Job Description

We are seeking a Project Accountant to join our team in Murrieta, California. The position is within the construction industry and the role will be located onsite. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Audit financial documents and procedures, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all tax and Federal Works regulations.

• Manage all financial transactions, including fixed payments, variable expenses, and subcontractor pay applications.

• Generate accurate and timely reports using accounting software.

• Handle all Subcontractor billings and necessary paperwork, ensuring that all subcontractors are in compliance on projects and meeting requirements.

• Oversee the ongoing maintenance of accounts, ensuring cashflow is utilized properly.

• Support management in the accurate production of monthly project budgets.

• Ensure the accurate and timely payment of subcontractors once cash receipts for projects are received.

• Assist in weekly Accounts Payable check run for vendors.

• Reconcile accounts payable and receivable.

• Implement Standard Operating Procedures as needed and inform executives of changes.

• Work with the team to manage and update accounting software systems.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role as a Project Accountant

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services is essential

• Knowledge of Costpoint software is necessary

• Familiarity with Deltek and Deltek Vision systems is required

• Experience with About Time software is desirable

• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions is mandatory

• Proficiency in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Prior experience in Auditing is highly desirable

• Candidates must possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Detail-oriented with high level of accuracy in work.
