Job Description

James Bates Brannan Groover LLP, a respected and growing law firm with offices in Macon, Atlanta, and Athens, is seeking an attorney to join our Litigation Practice Group in the Macon office. We’re seeking a motivated and experienced litigation attorney who is ready to take ownership of matters and contribute meaningfully to our team.

At JBBG, we believe that our people are our greatest asset. We’re committed to cultivating a supportive and dynamic environment where attorneys can thrive while providing excellent service to our clients. Our firm is grounded in four core values: servant leadership, excellence, integrity, and respect for others—principles that guide both our work and our workplace culture.

Our litigation team handles a wide range of complex matters, including business torts, construction and contract disputes, civil RICO, general commercial litigation, healthcare and employment issues, insurance matters, and local government representation. We take a hands-on, strategic approach to litigation, building strong relationships with our clients and pursuing results that are pragmatic, cost-effective, and aligned with client goals.

Requirements

  • Substantive experience in commercial and/or general litigation
  • Ability to manage and drive matters forward with general guidance
  • Experience handling all phases of litigation, including preparing for, taking, and defending depositions
  • Strong drafting skills for dispositive motions, discovery motions, and expert-related filings
  • Adept at developing legal strategy and managing client expectations
  • Comfortable participating in hearings and taking the lead when needed
  • Excellent legal writing, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple matters simultaneously, meeting all deadlines
  • Skilled at conducting thorough research and analysis to develop effective legal strategies
  • Experience with local government law is a plus
  • Must be admitted to the Georgia Bar and in good standing, or eligible for admission via reciprocity or the Georgia Bar Exam
