Job Description

While this position is preferably based in Mesa, AZ, we are also open to candidates located within a reasonable commuting distance of our offices in Denver, CO, or Sterling, VA.

This role offers the chance to work on the front lines of critical infrastructure security, directly shaping how physical security systems are deployed and operated in high-stakes data center environments. What sets this opportunity apart is the blend of hands-on engineering with strategic design, allowing you to both build and influence systems that must be highly reliable, resilient, and secure. You'll collaborate across departments and with external partners to deliver solutions that are not just functional, but scalable and user-friendly. Success in this role means delivering secure, standardized systems on time, training users to get the most from them, and continuously improving the technology based on real-world feedback. It's a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact in a fast-growing, high-security environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program, test, install, and maintain a variety of physical security systems and devices (e.g., access control, video management, biometric identification) in a data center environment.
  • Collaborate with end-users, general contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure systems meet requirements and project timelines.
  • Support all aspects of the physical security system for highly critical data center environments.
  • Provide comprehensive training to end-users on system functionality, best practices, and system optimization opportunities.
  • Recommend improvements based on user behavior, reporting needs, or new feature availability—translating technical capabilities into user-friendly options.
  • Interpret architectural drawings, security system designs, and technical documents to inform installation and system configuration.
  • Develop and manage project scope, schedule, and tracking documentation, ensuring consistent communication with stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) during implementation and post-deployment, addressing technical concerns and recommending long-term system solutions.
  • Work closely with the sales team to define and refine scopes of work, ensuring proposed solutions align with user needs and site requirements.
  • Embrace a "secure by design" approach to information security, ensuring physical security devices are patched and vulnerabilities are addressed proactively.
  • Embody a high standard for consistency across all operating facilities, including both data centers and corporate offices.
  • Build reliable solutions, with redundancy, resiliency, and scalability embedded into the design.

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of hands-on experience installing, configuring, and supporting physical security systems in enterprise and mission-critical environments.
  • Experience with Lenel Onguard and Milestone Video Management required.
  • Lenel Onguard Fundamentals certification required.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, security technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, physical security infrastructure, and related systems.
  • Experience reading and interpreting architectural and electrical drawings.
  • Proficient in using system databases and generating system usage, event, and audit reports.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for training, troubleshooting, and collaborating with end-users.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate with internal and external teams.
  • Self-starter with strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a team environment.

What We Offer

  • This is a full-time salaried position, including equity compensation and a performance-based annual bonus
  • While this on-site position is preferably based in Mesa, AZ, we are also open to candidates located within a reasonable commuting distance of our offices in Denver, CO, or Sterling, VA.
  • Base salary range is $120,000-$160,000, depending on experience.
  • Medical, dental & vision insurance coverage
  • Health & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs), Health Savings Account (HSA)
  • 120 hours of paid time off annually, plus 11 paid holidays
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan with a company contribution
