About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Import Coordinator to manage and streamline the importation of goods from international suppliers. In this role, you will ensure timely delivery, accurate documentation, and full compliance with customs and regulatory requirements. You’ll work closely with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal teams to maintain efficient and cost-effective import operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and track the importation of goods from international suppliers
  • Prepare and review import documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations, trade agreements, and other international trade laws
  • Communicate with freight forwarders, shipping agents, and customs brokers to monitor shipments and resolve issues
  • Schedule deliveries and maintain up-to-date shipment records in internal systems
  • Collaborate with purchasing, warehouse, and finance teams to support operational needs
  • Monitor and manage import tariffs, duties, and fees, ensuring accurate reporting and payments
  • Proactively identify and implement improvements in the import process to enhance efficiency

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, International Trade, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • 2+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or import/export operations
  • Strong understanding of international shipping regulations, Incoterms, and customs procedures
  • Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with customs brokers and freight forwarders
  • Knowledge of HTS codes and tariff classifications
