Job Description

The HR Manager will lead the development, implementation and administration of best practices, policies and strategies in the HR function. They will be a key strategic business partner providing hands-on operational and strategic human resources leadership for the Firm.

With a focus on human resources policies, programs, compliance and day-to-day operations, this role will help enhance employee engagement and productivity as well as further our organizational objectives. This role will provide support and guidance to leaders across the organization, especially as related to HR policies, staff compensation, performance management and resolving employee relations issues. Responsibilities

  • In addition to providing general HR support, this role will oversee day-to-day HR operations, offer policy recommendations and provide guidance on current policies, oversee record keeping, play a key role in the employee evaluation process, and act as a strategic partner in staff compensation analysis.
  • This individual will also have the leadership and technical skills to support the team as we automate and upgrade our processes.
  • Serve as trusted advisor to employees and managers, providing counsel on complex employee relations matters including internal investigations, disciplinary, performance improvement and conflict resolution while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Implement and monitor adherence to HR policies, procedures and practices.
  • Provide exceptional customer support to key stakeholders and employees across the organization.
  • Collaborate with leadership on special projects and implementations.
  • Qualifications 5+ years of HR leadership experience in high-growth professional services firm with multiple US offices and employees. Law firm experience a plus.
  • Bachelor’s Degree with coursework in HR, Business, or Organization Development or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in managing employee relations issues, to include: helping employees navigate performance issues, offering guidance to management regarding performance improvement plans, providing recommendations on counseling notices, and leading internal investigations.
  • Direct staff in managing and implementing programs that support employee engagement, productivity, and company objectives.
  • Design and communicate staff pay structures as necessary. Advise managers on making effective pay decisions that support employee engagement and comply with compensation policy and budgetary guidelines. Work with HR team and Firm leadership to develop and maintain job descriptions. Conduct research on market competitiveness, pay equity, and compensation trends.
  • Knowledge of employment, wage and salary laws and regulations across multiple states. General knowledge of employment laws and practices across the US.
  • Excellent communication skills, detail oriented, ability to work in fast-paced environment.
  • Can make decisions, where appropriate, and consult/seek approval with appropriate senior leaders when necessary;
  • Drive continuous automation, efficiency and effectiveness of people operations policies & process.
  • Strong Project Management skills; Proficient in MS Office; Knowledge of ADP a plus.
