Our client is seeking an HR Assistant who will perform essential administrative tasks and services to support the effective and efficient operations of their Human Resource division. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your HR career in a stable and mission-driven environment.

What You'll Achieve in This Role (Key Performance Outcomes):

  • Drive HR Excellence: Ensure HR functions adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and best practices, maintaining the highest standards of compliance and record integrity.
  • Master of Records: Meticulously maintain 100% accurate and confidential HR files, records, and documentation, ensuring data integrity and successful audit outcomes.
  • Recruitment & Onboarding Champion: Play a key role in attracting top talent by efficiently supporting the recruitment process – from sourcing and screening to scheduling interviews and leading a positive new hire onboarding experience.
  • Go-To HR Support: Provide timely and accurate responses to employee and applicant inquiries regarding policies, benefits, and hiring processes, acting as a helpful first point of contact.
  • Payroll & Benefits Pro: Reliably assist with payroll functions and act as an effective liaison with external benefits providers, ensuring smooth operations.
  • HR Program Contributor: Actively participate in developing and refining HR training programs, handbooks, policies, and procedures.
  • Event & Project Coordinator: Successfully coordinate HR projects, meetings, and special events like benefit enrollments and employee recognition programs.

What You Bring to the Table (Qualifications):

  • Required:
  • An Associate or Bachelor-level degree in Human Resources Management, Public or Business Administration, or a related field; OR an equivalent combination of approved education and experience.
  • Two or more (2+) years of demonstrated successful experience as an HR Assistant or in a similar HR support role.
  • A valid New Jersey Basic Driver’s License.
  • Ability to successfully complete pre-employment screening.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills – clear, professional, and articulate.
  • Superior interpersonal skills: tact, professionalism, and diplomacy are your trademarks, especially when handling sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and a keen eye for detail – you can juggle priorities and maintain accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint are essential).
  • Familiarity with HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) is highly desirable.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset and the ability to learn new systems quickly.

Work Environment:

  • This position is based at our client's headquarters in Cedar Knolls, NJ.
  • General office hours are a 7.5-hour workday, typically scheduled between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Some flexibility and overtime may be required based on operational needs.
