Green & Red Vineyard is looking for a harvest assistant winemaker for the upcoming vintage, starting mid-August and lasting until mid-November. Green and Red has been a classic producer of Napa Zinfandel since 1972, along with small lots of Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Syrah and Petite Sirah.

The winery and 31 acres of vineyards are located 1000-1800 feet above Chiles Canyon, parallel to Napa Valley and approximately 15 minutes east of St. Helena. The fruit is 100% estate grown on our steep, terraced vineyards, which have predominantly our namesake green serpentine and red chert soils. Other classic producers of Zinfandel and Syrah who have sourced fruit from our vineyards include Ridge, Scribe, Turley, Retro, Once & Future, and Biale.

Qualifications:
•  Have a positive attitude and enjoy working with a team; Be careful and detail-oriented
•  Hard-working and enjoy getting your hands dirty
•  Have an intellectual curiosity for both the vineyard and the winery
•  Have an enthusiasm for fine wine production
•  Should be able to follow written and verbal instructions
•  Previous harvest, hospitality, and restaurant experiences are all appreciated
•  Lift and carry 50+lbs

The harvest assistant winemaker will work alongside the winemaker in performing all duties and responsibilities:
•  Vineyard Sampling
•  Must analysis and fermentation monitoring
•  Crushing and sorting grapes
•  Winery and equipment sanitation
•  Pump-overs and punch downs
•  Pressing of both red and white varieties
•  Barrel preparation and filling
•  Basic laboratory analysis (Brix, TA, pH)

Position requires flexible hours and the ability to work on evenings and weekends during the most intense parts of the harvest.

The owners are food and wine lovers, and home cooked lunches are provided during peak harvest.

Compensation will be $22/hr.
