Job Description

Brunel is recruiting Documentation Specialist to work in Kemmerer, WY for initially 1 year contract with our major oil and gas client.

Per diem is available!

The candidate will coordinate between the Project Team (PT) and Operations to define documentation and information requirements for operations planning, start-up preparations, and ultimate operations. Develop the Documents for Operations (DFO) Strategy, ensuring that all documentation and information deliverables meet contractual and company requirements for handover.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement DFO strategy in alignment with company specifications and operational requirements.
  • Coordinate efforts between the Project Team and Operations to plan and execute DFO schedules and processes.
  • Ensure company DFO requirements are understood by the PT, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Interface with PT members to identify start-up, integrity-critical, and “ready-for-operations” deliverables.
  • Plan and conduct DFO workshops, refresher training sessions, and communicate expectations to PT and contractors.
  • Provide guidance and facilitate resolution of DFO-related queries and deviations.
  • Monitor PT progress on review and approval of DFO deliverables, contractor turnover, and final handover to operations.
  • Report status of DFO review-to-handover cycle for tracking purposes.
  • Transmit early and final deliverable information packages to Operations.
  • Ensure all final DFO drawings, documents, and associated attributes are progressively loaded into the Company’s Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) (e.g., UDocs).
  • Identify documentation gaps, report deficiencies to Information Management Lead, and provide resolutions.
  • Perform internal DFO audits within the PT and external audits with contractors and subcontractors; ensure issue resolution.
  • Ensure adequate performance measurement systems are implemented to track and report DFO progress.
  • Proactively alert the Project Information Management Lead of any issues that could impact documentation quality, cost, or schedule.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical or engineering disciplines (preferred).
  • Experience in operations and/or project technical support roles.
  • Strong background in document management and IT systems/tools.
  • Understanding of documentation needs and usage in oil & gas facility operations.
  • Previous experience in Production, Refining, or Chemicals operations technical support.
  • Advanced proficiency in information management processes and tools.
  • Ability to plan and manage documentation workflows and processes effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence outcomes without direct authority.
