Director of Quality Assurance – Cryogenics and Freeze-drying

We are currently seeking a Director of Quality Assurance. This position is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring that all food products meet stringent quality and safety standards, from raw materials to finished goods. They with oversee the quality assurance and food safety programs for the plant, ensuring compliance with both company policies and regulatory requirements. This individual will need to be as focused, driven, and passionate about our product and partnerships as the rest of our dynamic team.

This position is located at our offices in our Paducah, Kentucky facility.

All Cryogenic Processors, LLC positions must successfully pass a State Background check.

Job Responsibilities

• Leads the Quality Assurance department, promoting a culture of food safety and quality
• Manage budgets and resources
• Develop QA staff
• Develop and maintain quality control policies and procedures, ensure compliance with regulations
• Oversee food safety systems, manage investigations into incidents, and manage plant sanitation and environmental monitoring
• Apply knowledge of quality control and GLP to laboratory operations
• Oversee testing methodologies
• perform data analysis
• support product commercialization.
• Ensures knowledge of relevant regulations, educates staff on compliance, and serves as a contact for inspections and audits
• Proactively drive improvements, work on capital projects related to quality and safety, and monitor performance trends

 Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a science-related field
• Certifications in PCQI, HACCP, SQF are required
• Proficiency with relevant computer systems
• Proven senior quality assurance experience in the food and beverage industry is necessary with freeze drying experience preferred. Experience with thermally processed food and beverages, multi-plant settings, and significant managerial experience are beneficial
• Comprehensive knowledge of food safety and quality systems and regulatory compliance
• Ability to develop and manage quality processes
• Strong leadership, management, and coaching skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
