Job Description

Our European banking client is seeking a Relationship Manager (AVP / Vice President level) to join their Corporate Clients division, focusing on International Corporates in the TMT sector. This is a great opportunity to join a global institution with a strong presence in both the U.S. and Europe.

Position Summary:

The Relationship Manager will be responsible for:

  1. Managing their own junior portfolio within the TMT (Technology, Media & Telecommunications) sector.
  2. Supporting senior bankers through portfolio management of a senior client book.

The primary focus of this role is to deepen product penetration across areas such as Fixed Income & Currencies (FIC), Corporate & Investment Banking (CMIB), and Corporate Finance (CF) for existing clients, while also expanding the client base.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of assigned corporate clients and acquire new clients in coordination with the lead branch.
  • Drive account profitability by delivering tailored Corporate and Investment Banking products and structures.
  • Originate, structure, and manage credit facilities for assigned clients and prospects, including full responsibility for credit analysis, approval, and monitoring.
  • Strengthen relationships by engaging with senior-level contacts and guiding the up-tiering process.
  • Coordinate closely with Credit and Legal departments to ensure timely credit approvals and execution of lending documents and compliance processes.
  • Deliver sound credit recommendations, exercise strong pricing acumen, and maintain credit discipline.
  • Prepare business presentations and financial models for client meetings and prospective deals.
  • Lead the account onboarding and client take-on process.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of client financials, including liquidity, funding costs, and market/credit risks.

Experience / Qualifications / Education:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Corporate and Investment Banking, with established relationships across U.S.-based corporates and multinational clients operating in both the U.S. and Europe.
  • Proven ability to originate and execute complex banking transactions across the Americas and Europe.
  • Strong track record of revenue generation, client development, and P&L responsibility.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field; a graduate degree is preferred.
  • FINRA Series 7 or 79 licenses are highly preferred upon hire and must be obtained within 90–120 days post-hire.
  • Broad product knowledge and ability to coordinate delivery across various banking products and services.
  • Excellent relationship management, sales, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational capabilities.
  • Self-starter with leadership potential and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
  • Familiarity with the TMT sector and an understanding of the broader competitive landscape.
