Job Description

Insight Global is hiring Assistant Teachers/Aides for one of our clients! While a background in early childhood or special education is preferred, we welcome candidates without formal credentials who demonstrate the right qualities and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Head Teacher and therapists in the classroom
  • Implement individualized educational plans (IEPs)
  • Assist students with activities of daily living
  • Apply speech and language techniques modeled by SLPs
  • Provide individualized attention based on students’ needs and behaviors
  • Use diverse teaching methods to support various learning styles and communication abilities
  • Collaborate with specialty teachers (e.g., sculpture, art, movement, dance)
  • Foster a positive, inclusive environment promoting language, social, emotional, and academic growth
  • Participate in professional development related to autism spectrum disorders
  • Communicate with parents, caregivers, and stakeholders about student progress
  • Collect data and maintain accurate records and reports
  • Report student needs or concerns to the Head Teacher

Required Skills & Experience

  • Background in early childhood education and/or special education (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in education, psychology, or a related field (preferred)
  • Experience with children on the autism spectrum, especially moderate to severe cases
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work under the guidance of a Head Teacher and Clinical Care Coordinator
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Familiarity or willingness to learn:
  • Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems
  • Techniques for supporting students with sensory processing/integration challenges
  • Physical and emotional capacity to support an active classroom, including:
  • Mobility and safety management
  • Behavioral redirection
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviors safely and non-harmfully
  • Openness to learning and implementing new approaches through training, coaching, and conferences
