Position: Assistant Project Manager – Renovations/Remodels 

CB Construction Group, Inc. is currently seeking a motivated and organized Assistant Project Manager to join our growing team and facilitate meeting the needs of our expanding client base. The ideal applicant will have at least 2 years of experience, preferably related to resort & hotel renovations and remodels. 

The candidate will support the Project Manager and the on-site crew in the successful delivery of construction projects. The Assistant Project Manager will take part in all aspects of a project from bidding all the way through startup and post construction. The candidate will be able to thrive in high pressure environments while utilizing the utmost level of problem solving.

This position is based either out of our Schaumburg, IL or Boca Raton, FL office locations. 

Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Assist the Project Manager with the overall plan for construction of the project from inception to completion.
• Possess working knowledge of all project plans, specifications, purchase orders, daily correspondence, submittals, and all other project related documents. 
• Help problem-solve issues and suggest ways to improve the project. 
• Obtain quotes from material suppliers and equipment providers.
• Secure equipment rentals for the project. 
• Prepare submittals. 
• Generate purchase orders.
• Prepare, expedite, and monitor logs for tracking submittals and material delivery logs. 
• With the Superintendent, monitor and expedite the delivery of materials.
• Work with client’s Procurement. 
• Prepare FF&E distribution list. 
• Prepare and manage FF&E pull list, track FF&E deliveries. 
• Prepare and track damage reports. 
• Prepare progress reports for clients. 
• Maintain and track project closeout. 
• Prepare project closeout documents. 
• Keep the Project Manager fully informed in a timely fashion with regard to any and all problem areas on the project.
• Maintain positive vendor and client relationships. 

Required Qualifications: 

• A college degree is preferred, ideally in business/construction management. 
• Experience in project management or administrative assistance. Previous experience as an 
• Assistant Project Manager or a similar role is highly desirable.
• PC-based spreadsheet applications including Excel and Word. 
• Experience with PROCORE management software. 
• Ability to multi-task effectively. 
• Focused and supportive to management at all times. 
• Strong communication skills. 
• Problem-solving skills. 
• Detail-oriented and highly organized. 
• Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
